The Choice of Peace...

One of the greatest concepts is that of free will -- the freedom to choose.

There are many accounts in the Bible where it's clear that God has given His people the freedom to choose.

  • In Deuteronomy 30, Moses writes to the Israelites on the call of returning to the Lord and says that the choice of life and death is placed before them. He mentions this choice twice, once in verse 15 and another in verse 19.

  • In Revelation 3, that He will stand at the door and knock and He will come in and eat with those who open the door (verse 20).

  • In Romans 6, the Apostle Paul describes that you become a slave to what you choose to obey - your flesh or God.

The point is that we have choices.

With that being said...

We have to choose daily what we submit to. Are we submitting to the will of God? Are we submitting to the pressures of life? Are we submitting to world standards and culture? or are we submitting to the Spirit of God?

One of the choices we have to make on a daily basis is that of peace.

The scripture says, "Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. 7And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours]" (Philippians 4:6-7 AMP).

The choice here is clear: either we pray about everything, telling God our needs and expressing gratitude OR we be anxious. We should be waking up choosing the peace of God to walk in. In every moment of our day we, as Kingdom heirs, should be living and governing our day and life from the place of peace. After all, it was given to us (John 14:27).

This is your reminder to Always Be EPIC by waking up and choosing peace.
